WHO THIS IS FOR

THE STUDENT The students this program is designed to support.

The Summer Portfolio Intensive is designed for students in grades 10–12 and gap year who are preparing portfolios for art and design programs.

It is best suited for students applying to competitive schools who want to strengthen both their concepts and overall presentation.

Participants should be motivated, open to critique, and ready to engage seriously with their work.

IDEAL FIT The mindset and preparation level that works best.

Students who benefit most from this program are those who already have some existing work and want to refine their direction. You do not need a finished portfolio, but you should be ready to build, revise, and push ideas further. Curiosity, discipline, and a willingness to experiment are essential. The intensive is structured for students who want accountability, structure, and professional-level feedback.

Applying to university was already stressful, but adding a portfolio on top of it made it so much scarier, and I had no idea how to curate one. Even after my first session with Abby, I already felt less stressed and able to manage my portfolio. She was so willing to help in every step of the process and her positive energy really helped me step back and see that it wasn't as stressful as I was making it out to be. I don't think I would have felt even half as confident in submitting my portfolio if I hadn't worked with Abby. I learned so much about what goes into a portfolio as a whole and feel super prepared for the next time I'll have to make one.
